What do your tickets to Feed the Need and auction purchases benefit? Here’s how you “make a difference” at Feed the Need:

For over 45 years, the Christian Service Center for Central Florida has served the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the Central Florida community and has maintained a distinguished reputation for preventing homelessness and improving lives.

From three Central Florida locations (Downtown Orlando, West Orange and Winter Park), the Center directly assists thousands of families in need every year. Its servivce to the community is successful, thanks to an incredible and devoted team of staff, volunteers and supporters who partner with the Center year-round to make miracles happen every day.

The Christian Service Center has three core programs specifically designed to serve its mission and address the most prominent needs of those struggling in the Central Florida community. Through these core programs, the Center continues its mission of combating poverty and cultivating self-sufficiency:

Family & Emergency Services (from three locations) provides immediate emergency assistance and relief to those faced with an unexpected financial crisis. The Love Pantry program provides struggling families with an emergency food supply directly through public schools. And, Daily Bread soup kitchens (from two locations) serve a free, nourishing noontime meal for families and individuals six days a week.

In 2016, Family & Emergency Services directly helped 5,838 people by providing assistance with food, clothing, rent/mortgage, utilities, hygiene items and referral to other agencies. The Love Pantry program reached into 66 public schools this academic year with an emergency cabinet, distributing over 108,000 food and hygiene items to more than 22,000 people, of which 14,685 were children! Daily Bread averaged 383 meals per day last year, serving over 119,000 nourishing noon-time meals in Downtown Orlando and Ocoee. And, before the end of this year, Daily Bread will serve its 4,500,000th meal!

So gather some friends, family, or co-workers and join us on October 5 to Feed the Need!
